Shot from the show'The Train Wreck is Proceeding Nicely' is the story of a man fighting for sanity in a world gone mad. Set in an asylum in the 1950s, "J. Robert Oppenheimer" finds himself at the center of an inquisition. The circus trial takes on the form of an early television variety show, which careens from absurd predictions of the future, to confessional game show, to bathing beauty chorus line and back to loyalty hearing. The new work for eight core performers challenges views of our collective past, tracing connections to the seemingly out-of-control extremes in our world today. It is a dark comedy: absurdity becomes the norm as ideas, passion and power plays slam against each other.
